30 things I learned (did) taking 30 days off of Facebook

30 things I learned (did) taking 30 days off of Facebook

I took time off of Facebook for multiple reasons, the number one reason was time management. But damn, I missed everyone.

1: Facebook friends are friends. Just like your neighbors, your friends on Facebook become your tribe. You share stories and give advice. You are there for one another.
2: I couldn’t tell anyone I had the stomach flu so people could feel sorry for me.
3: I have more time for myself

I'm now a Pro Wrestling fan.

I'm now a Pro Wrestling fan.

Over the years, I’ve known people who were into wrestling. I knew a few wrestlers by name, but I never understood it. “How can The Rock become an actor, he’s just a stupid wrestler” *facepalm* “Wrestling is fake!” I kept refusing to listen to fans, “What do they know?!”

I was in for a big surprise.

Camp NaNo and all the things!

Work has me pretty busy right now despite signing onto do Camp NaNo for July, and I haven't had as much time to get the things I want to be written done. But it's cool, I'm not superwoman. I'm doing the best I can with all the curveballs thrown at me. So normally I sit and mope about all the things I didn't accomplish, but today I'd like to write out all the awesome things I've done. in no particular order.

I've prepared about five blogs to post, averaging 600 words each. They still need to be edited, but I wrote words!

I lost 10 pounds

Athena can spell her name

I'm helping a friend edit his book to the best of my ability to get him ready for a writing contest of sorts

I'm chugging away through SQL. I both love and hate it

I'm making my own application in QuickBase. It's both fun and challenging.

I found my inspiration for writing a very completed character.

I get out of bed every day.

Can I do it all?

Can I do it all?

Mom? Wife? Blogger? Coder? Photographer? Writer? Seamstress?
Can I be all of it?
Yes, yes I can. Because I’m a bad-ass. And so are you.

I haven’t always felt like this(not sure I feel it now, but I'm trying). When things got (are) hard, I would run away. When I'm criticized, I run. When I’m complimented I run. I run a lot, you’d think I’d be skinny or something, but I run to cake; because food is love. (it’s not, stop eating your feelings)

Nostalgia and gaming

Nostalgia and gaming

We always remember things better than they were. I don’t want to get political here, but the slogan, “make America great again”, turns my stomach. Stay with me, this is not a political post, you do you. I will always remember the 90’s as the best time to be alive. I was 6 in 1990, and 16 when the dreaded Y2K hit us. But we forget about the Clinton scandal, Anita Hill,
